Trip to Vienna
Hi everyone,
Last week, some Erasmus students and I had the good idea of going abroad. We were 5 in total. The university said that the classes were cancelled due to an influenza B epidemic . They were less than 5 people with the coronavirus, we decided to spend 4 days abroad. We all wanted to go to Vienna, but the planes tickets were expensive. We looked for tickets to go to Bratislava since it's not far from Vienna and they were cheap, so we booked them. The trip was supposed to be from Wednesday night to Sunday night, no problem so far. In the plane, we had to fill a form in case there was a case of coronavirus in the plane. When we got out of the airport, a policeman was taking our temperature to be sure that we didn't have the virus.
We spent the night in Bratislava and visited a little bit the city in the morning because the bus to Vienna was at midday. Then we took the bus to Vienna the day after without any problem.
We
visited Vienna that day and it was beautiful. We could see the difference
between Austria and Bulgaria. We saw the house of Beethoven and the beautiful
papyrus museum and the museum of Vienna. We also wanted to go to Mozart's house,
but it was closed.
But in the middle of the afternoon, it was the beginning of a stressing few days. The first bad news was that Slovakia was closing its borders Friday in the morning, but our plane tickets were for Sunday night, so it wasn't possible for us to go back to Bulgaria with those tickets. After that, the French President said that schools and all public places were closing, it was the second bad news. So, we were looking for other plane tickets from Vienna to Sofia to go back in Bulgaria, but prices were too high, so we settled for a 15 hours long bus trip for Saturday night. Then we went to sleep. But the next morning, Bulgaria was starting to close its borders, so we decided to go Friday night. The trip was very long, we crossed 2 countries (Hungary and Serbia) and policeman checked our temperature when we crossed the Bulgarian borders, but everything was fine. So, in the end, we were back and Bulgaria and everything was okay.
Thanks for reading!
